드네프로강은 태봉 (후고구려) 궁예의 한탄강인가?

 

 

한탄강은 후고구려를 세운 궁예가 수도 철원을 한탄강 옆에 두었다 했다.

그런데 한탄강은 대탄강이라고도 하는데, 큰 여울이 많다는 뜻이라 한다. (아래 나무 위키 참조)

 

 

“한탄강(漢灘江) 이름의 유래는 궁예가 왕건의 쿠데타 당시 도망가던 도중 이 강을 건너면서 한탄을 했다는 민간전승에서 유래했다고 잘못 알려져 있으나, 실제로는 크다는 의미의 순우리말 한, 여울 탄(灘)의 '큰 여울이 있는 강'이라는 뜻을 지녔으며,  김정호의 대동지지를 보면 대탄강(大灘江)으로 적혀 있다. 

 

한국지리에서 주요 강을 표시할 때는 이름을 찾아볼 수 없지만 철원군 - 평강군 용암대지를 흐르며 그 지역의 벼농사를 가능하게 해주는 강이기에 비중은 어느 정도 차지하고 있다.

 

후삼국시대 태봉의 수도였던 철원을 끼고 도는 강이었기 때문에 수도를 감싸는 강의 지위를 얻었지만,..”

그런데 본 블로그에 올린 글 ‘로마제국은 백제이다’에서 주장한 바와 같이 고구려와 백제의 경계였던 패강이 드네프로강이다.  이 드네프로강에 큰 여울이 많다고 한다.

"Dnieper Rapids were part of trade route from the Varangians to the Greeks, first mentioned in the Kiev Chronicle. The route was probably established in the late eighth and early ninth centuries and gained significant importance from the tenth until the first third of the eleventh century. On the Dnieper the Varangians had to portage their ships round seven rapids, where they had to be on guard for Pecheneg nomads.

 

Along this middle flow of the Dnieper, there were nine major rapids (although some sources cite a fewer number of them), obstructing almost the whole width of the river, about 30-40 smaller rapids, obstructing only part of the river, and about 60 islands and islets.

이것이 한탄강이라면 근처에 철원이라는 태봉의 수도가 있어야 한다.

 

그런데 바로 드네프로강 입구에  Ochakiv라는 고트족의 수도가 있었다.

이 Ochakiv에 대해서 좀 더 알아 보자.

 

 

“The city is located right at the mouth of  Dnieper, on the banks of the  Dnieper - Bug Estuary. Between the  Cape of Ochakiv (northern bank) and the  Kinburn spit (southern bank) there are only 3.6 km (2.2 mi). The Ochakiv and Kinburn fortresses controlled the entrance to Dnieper and Bug.

 

 

The strip of land, on which Ochakov is located today, was inhabited by  Thracians  and  Scythians  in ancient times. It was known as a part of Great (i. e. European) Scythia. In the 7th and 6th centuries BC, Greek colonists had founded a commercial colony town, named  Alektor, near the Thracian coast. Archaeological excavations also show that near the area was the old  Milesian  (ancient Greek) colony of  Pontic Olbia; it is supposed that the same Greek expeditions settled Alektor.

 

 

 

In the 1st century BC, Alektor became a Roman colony and part of the  Roman empire. The area was part of the space in which the  Romanians' ethnogenesis took place, and was also more generally a place of passage for many migratory people and tribes. As a result of the migrations, the city fell and the inhabitants lived in small settlements built on the shores of the  Bug  and  Dnieper Rivers.

 

 

During the Middle Ages the place was named  Vozia by Romanians. The name is supposed to come from a plant known in Romanian as    bozii or

bozia (Sambucus ebulus), a medicinal herb frequently found there. The territory was a part of the Moldavia Brodnici  rule. It fell under  Tatar  domination in the time of the  Mongol invasion of Europe.” (source : Wikipedia)

 

 

Ochakiv 위치 (드네프로강 입구)

 

즉 드네프로강 입구를 콘트롤하는 성곽이 있는 Ochakiv는 BC 6-7세기부터 스키타이지역의 일부였는데, BC 1세기부터 로마 식민지가 되었다. 즉 백제의 통치였다는 것이다.

 

그러나 376년 훈족의 크리미아반도 정복, 즉 광개토대왕의 관미성 함락이후에는 고구려의 관할이 된 것으로 판단된다. 이후 백제는 관미성을 회복하려 노력했지만 성공하지 못했다. 따라서 패강인 드네프로강에서 밀려나 다뉴브강을 경계로 고구려와 접한 것으로 보인다.

 

실제 이후 백제가 강성한 성왕으로 판단되는 비잔틴로마의 Justinian I 때에도 북쪽 국경은 다뉴브강을 경계로 하고 있다. 따라서 고트족의 수도라는 Ochakiv는 후고구려 태봉의 수도 철원일 가능성이 있는 것이다. 이는 물론 드네프로강이 패강이고 큰 여울이 있는 한탄강이라는 전제에서이다.
